As if losing your baby wasn't enough, there's nothing more disheartening than having to lose those extra kilos after mc, particularly around the waist! After my mmc at 12 weeks, all I wanted to do was drink wine, eat crisps, and hide under the covers with Netflix. Not exactly a recipe for getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight!
In the last three months since the mmc, however, I've lost all the pregnancy weight and more. I haven't really gotten back to the gym more than 2-3 times a week (max), not like before the mmc. BUT I have gone keto 3-4 days a week - and I love it! Basically I just keep carbs really low (under 20 g - which is the equivalent of about two cappuccinos/per day) and focus on eating a lot of veg and protein instead on those days. The other days are normal, with occasional cheat days involving wine and cheese, of course! :) I particularly like the "zero noodles" on low carb days because it tastes just like pasta without any of the carbs. My recipe for the low carb pasta is the following: zero noodles (I like the "penne") + broccoli chopped finely + 1-2 laughing cow (or dairylea) light cheese wedges. Melt the cheese and broccoli on the pasta and you have a nice Alfreda type of sauce. This dish is so filling and delicious and it is super low-carb with only about 30 calories!
